Membership descriptions
Here’s a brief description of our most popular types of membership (we’ve tried to make sure there is something to suit everyone’s needs) For a detailed breakdown, see the table at the bottom of this page
Full Membership £193 (£143 for those already a BSAC member)
In return for the price of 2 premier league football matches full members enjoy
- weekly access to the adjoining pool (for training swimming or games)
- Use of the clubhouse and bar
- The option to tap into our training program (from learning to dive* to boat handling courses through to Advanced divers)
- Use of club equipment (including dive gear for the pool and the boats for diving
- Unlimited use of our self service cylinder filling station to fill members own cylinders (including Nitrox at an extra cost of oxygen only**)
- Access to a regular calendar of diving and dive weekends
- Have a great group of friends to dive with in the UK or around the World!
*A one-off joining fee is levied for non-divers joining the club and wishing to train from scratch or cross-over divers requiring further training during their first year of membership. All other training is included in annual membership fee. For details contact our Training Officer
**Must have undergone induction and must posses appropriate diving qualification for access to Nitrox
New members - Ocean Diver trainees £293 (first year of training)
Includes a one-off joining fee of £100. Membership also includes your Ocean Diver training and training pack. Benefit from learning to dive with on the best BSAC clubs in the north west, plus, make the most of all the benefits and club facilities of our full Membership package (See above).
Cross-over divers - £253 (for those requiring training during their first year of membership)
Includes a one-off joining fee of £60. Membership also includes your cross-over training and training pack. Plus, make the most of all the benefits and club facilities of our full Membership package (See above).
Facilities Membership (£120)
Facilities members tend to be those that already have their own dive activities; sometimes they are in another active club, sometimes they have their own boat and group of dive friends or simply dive in the local quarries. Facilities Members have:
- Use of the clubhouse on club nights, including the bar
- Unlimited use of our own self service cylinder filling station to fill member's own cylinders (including Nitrox at an extra cost of oxygen only*) on club nights.
Apart from the great prices (sometimes less than half the best shop prices for a year's worth of fills) and fun atmosphere surrounded by other divers, Facilities Members enjoy the convenience of being able to do all this after work hours, so no more running around to get fills sorted in the lunch hour!
Affiliate Membership (£143)
For divers who are already a direct member of the BSAC or of another BSAC club and want to keep those ties no problem! We’re comfortable with divers having as many associates as they like.
Social Member (£10)
Popular with Divers spouse and members friends, the Social Member can join in all the clubs social activities and use the Clubhouse and bar on club nights for just £10!
Social Member (£25)
For just £25 a year, Pool Social Members have all the benefits of a Social Member plsu weekly access to our pool session for swimming and snorkelling
Snorkel Membership (£99)
If you don’t dive anymore or you simply don’t fancy it but would like to snorkel and participate in all the other good stuff going on, why not join as a Snorkel Member! That means everything the club does is open to you and that includes training (yes, you can still learn to drive the club boats, take divers out in Liverpool bay, using GPS and VHF radios, learn to manage rescues from the surface and much more). Snorkel members can go on club holidays abroad where snorkeling is a great activity or around the bays of Anglesey on one of our camping weekends.
