Anglesey Training Weekend
Superb vis, loads of marine life and sunny weather. Oh yes and a bit of fog in the mornings. An excellent weekend, with training dives on the Missouri, Duke of Lancaster, Rhoscolyn Beacons and the Hermine. Camping was at Bagnol Campsite at the end of Ravenspoint Road in Trearddur Bay, where the facilities are excellent. Good clean showers and toilets. Friday night saw us in the Anchorage as it was approaching 9pm by the time everyone had their tent up. Saturday night saw us gathered round the BBQs then huddled inside Ian & Tony's spacious tent for an impromptue concert by Martin Sampson on his guitar. Each morning we were greeted by thick fog, which burned off by mid day, resulting in glorious sunshine. The diving was really excellent and all candidates seemed to have a good time, apart from Gavin, who got a jellyfish sting which seemed to knock him sideways. The early start on the Sunday meant we could get everything done and packed away by 3pm and home in time to wash the boat down before putting it to bed. Thanks to Steve McElroy and all the instructors for organising the trip.
