Close encounters with seals

Last weekends dive to the Farne Islands was a great success. Despite heavy rain on the journey up to the North East on the Friday, Saturday was bright sunshine and a calm sea. With two boats full, we ventured off to the outer Farnes and had two enjoyable dives in excellent visability, but no seals underwater. Sunday started cloudy with a few showers but we struggled to get out to the Knivestone in time for slack so we approached one of the dive boats who willingly showed us a spectacular dive site where we were guaranteed some seals joining us on the dive. This really was a special day for many of us. One or two of the seals were VERY friendly, one even stealing Alistair's ankle weight! Some excellent footage by Ian Bennett of Alistair being hugged by a seal will be posted on You Tube shortly. Great weekend once again Thanks to Ian and Tony for organising.
