Branch 5 Exhibition & RNLI Collection at Tescos

Tescos had a significant presence from Merseyside Branch 5 members over the weekend of the 22/23rd August. After erecting the club tent and setting up the stand material and Viking RIB we set about telling people about diving with Merseyside Branch 5 and found that we were soon inundated with enquiries from new and existing divers. Alongside the exhibition duties our members carried out a collection to raise funds for the RNLI. We exhibited from 9am to 5pm on the Saturday and 10am to 4pm on the Sunday. Despite Sunday being a shorter stay for us, it proved to be the busier day. In all we took payment for 44 bookings for try dives in October which was a terrific result after the success of the BSACs National campaign which brought us 46 try dive bookings for September. Sue Black spent 7 hours counting the collection for the RNLI, which totalled £1270.50p for this worthwhile charity. Well done and thanks to all concerned for a really great weekend!
